The Curse and the Prince (Kingdom of Curses and Shadows #2)
Synopsis:
A troubled prince.
A deadly curse.
A mysterious cup.
And the power to save or doom the kingdom.
Of course things didn’t go as planned at the Royal Games. When do things go as planned?
Now Zora is on the run, and has to join a disgraced prince in order to retrieve a powerful magical artifact that might undo her valley’s curse. For the first time in her life, she has real hope for her people.
Problem is, for the second time in her life, she’s falling for someone she shouldn’t. Finding a hidden object is hard enough on its own, she could do without the heart palpitations and lack of air. And she could certainly focus better without the constant memory of his lips on hers, his arms around her… Gaah! See? How can she avoid pursuers and decipher enigmatic writings when her brain has been turned to mush? Painful, hopeless mush.
But the real trouble is that there’s more than one curse in the kingdom. And not enough objects or time to get rid of them all.

REVIEW
I had loved the first book of this series and I was just waiting to get my hands on this one. The book has a lot of enigmatic scenarios which kept me wondering about what was going to happen next.
I simply loved the character growth shown throughout the book and I was really excited to see if and how Alegra would have a redemption…..tbh I liked the tension between Alegra/Riadne and Lazarus more than Griffin and Zora. During the first book I was all over Griffin and Zora but in this I was the same but over Riadne and Lazarus. I loved how the author has given voices to all these characters and how she had made me love all the three potential lovers in this book.
It has everything one would expect from a fantasy for 15+; it has all those “fantasy” aspects along with a dash of romance and suspense which made me keep turning the pages and trust you are in for one hell of a cliffhanger when the book ends.
The only thing I was a little bit disappointed was the pacing in the first half of the book, thus it took me some time to reach the 50% mark but after that I liked the pacing and read the whole book in one sitting…lol
So, if you haven’t read the book yet, PICK IT UP….it’s worth it!
FAVOURITE QUOTES
“Oh, no, not him. I was thinking about a princess from a kingdom of gold. I was thinking that the princess would realize the king she was about to marry was not what she thought. I thought the princess would maybe look at the king’s charming younger brother. Well, it happened, but not with the charming brother. For some reason she turned to the grumpy brother. And it was for the best, as it all turned out to be a lie. There was never any princess.”
“It’s possible that we will be poor, that our lives will be hard, but I think we have something between us that’s worth more than all the gold in the world. Will you come with me, stay by my side? Start a new life with me? And again, it won’t be easy.” He then added softly, his words a caress, “But I think it will still be worth it.”
